Have I mentioned the weather has been beautiful? This is really the best time (weather wise) of the year where I live February and :March. Well the reason I am mentioning it is because we are spending almost all of our time outdoors..bike riding, swing set, park, soccer, digging, drawing with chalk, playing with water, taking walks. All outdoors all the time. So where does that leave writing? My daughter really takes the initiative with her writing so I even though we are outdoors, she will write her little letters with chalk or with a stick in the dirt. One morning there was dew on the window and my daughter was writing letters on it (my husband doesn’t really like when she does that lol). She is great at her A’s but I snapped a picture where she decided to draw it upside down for some reason. She told me she wrote Anabel. That’s another thing that she is doing a lot, she will draw a string of random letters and then tell me that she is writing “mom” or “dad” or “Roman” or “dog”. But she always writes an A when she writes her name.
So tell me, what spontaneous writing activities do your kids come up with? Also, last week, I didn’t get much feedback on the questions I asked so if you want to add your opinion…go on over to last week’s post.
I'm seeing a lot of "letter writing" - where they scribble out pages, and pages of "letters" to friends, and family. Then, they fold them over, and close them with a sticker, and "write" an address on the outside, ready to be mailed :) My husband is not a big fan of window writing either - especially in the van!
ReplyDeleteHaha. I used to get in trouble for writing on the windows in the car. Lucky for your kids their mom knows it can be an outlet for writing. Thank you for sharing. I tried to link up a post but the linky tool was giving me a hard time. I will try again later.
